About

I’m Laura Kiefert—a wife, mom, Mimi, and no-nonsense storyteller with a fierce love for family, truth, and the little things that make life meaningful. I grew up in a small Wisconsin town where family, church, and community were everything. That foundation shaped the way I see the world—through a lens of empathy, determination, and deep-rooted values.

Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of hats: young single mom, survivor of an abusive relationship, IT manager, devoted wife, chronic pain warrior, and now full-time writer and observer of life. I’ve learned to navigate the hard stuff with grit and humor—parenting, illness, heartbreak, and loss—while still finding joy in the everyday moments. I’m curious by nature, a bit stubborn, deeply emotional, and proud of the life I’ve built.

Don’t Blink! is my space to share that life. I write about politics, pain, aging, memories, relationships, and whatever else is stirring in my heart or firing me up that day. My stories are raw, unfiltered, sometimes funny, sometimes sharp, but always honest. I write the way I live—passionately, and with purpose.

So pull up a chair, take a breath, and read on. Just don’t blink—because you might miss something real.
